Adventurers – About

Welcome to the Potomac Adventurer website. We hope that you will find what you need here to make Adventurer ministry “work” for you.

If you are a young person who is not an Adventurer yet, it’s not too late to join! We encourage you to find a local club near you where you and your family can join. If you are already an Adventurer, we’re glad you are part of what makes Adventurers special. If you are an Adventurer parent, you are what makes Adventurers possible and important in the lives of your children. If you are a leader or pastor, thanks for all you do to make this ministry possible week in and week out.

Who is Potomac?

Potomac is a Seventh-day Adventist regional organization called a conference. We serve the churches of Virginia, six counties in Maryland, and the District of Columbia.

Who are Adventurers?

Adventurers are a worldwide organization of family clubs sponsored by local Seventh-day Adventist congregations. Families from any religious persuasion or walk of life are welcome to join the organization.

Who can join?

Adventurers is for families who have children who are Pre-K (or its equivalent) through 4th grade (or its equivalent). Each age/grade level has its own age appropriate activities and goals which assist groups of parents in helping their children explore My God, My Self, My Family, and My World.

Adults and teen are welcome to participate in Adventurers as staff coordinators in various areas which enable them to make a lasting difference for families through helping them create positive memories together, develop friendships with fellow staff, and improving their leadership skills through training and use.
